UK - gateway2investment expands focus to bridge 'investment gap'
Gateway2investment, the start-up investment programme which currently focuses on technological investments, is expanding its service to encompass all sectors of the economy.
Grant Thornton, originally commissioned by the London Development Agency to set up and manage the programme for three years, has been asked to broaden the offering to include all early-stage companies within the Greater London Area in an effort to bridge the growing 'investment gap' for up to 450 start-up's each year. The programme, a collaboration which also includes companies such as E-Synergy, Library House, Quotec and the Innovatory, has been successful. With more than £14m of private investment raised among 23 start-up businesses in the last 18 months, it has caught the attention of the European Commission as well as development agencies both nationally and internationally.
