Gores' Hammad to lead Flybe
Saad Hassan Hammad, managing director of operations for Gores Group, has been appointed as budget airline Flybe’s latest CEO.
At Gores, Hammad is responsible for operational due diligence and working with portfolio company executive teams to drive operational improvements. Prior to joining Gores, Hammad was chief commercial officer of easyjet between 2005-2009 and was instrumental in the airline's commercial turnaround. He was a non-executive director for Air Berlin from 2011-2012.
Previously he held a number of senior operational roles at Procter & Gamble, Thorn-EMI and Vision Express.
The new appointment sees Hammad taking over from outgoing Flybe CEO Jim French, who will remain as chairman. The reshuffle comes after the company reported a pre-tax loss of £40.7m last month.
