GREECE - Marfin to to make EUR 62m Olympic acquisition
According to reports, Greek investment firm Marfin Investment Group is set to acquire Greek aircarrier Olympic Airlines in a deal valued at just over EUR 62m.
Of the purchase price of EUR 62.4m, EUR 45.7m is thought to represent the cost of purchasing the company's flying operations, while the remaining EUR 16.7m accounts for the technical base. The Government is said to have rejected a higher bid put in by private airline operator Aegean Airlines over concerns the deal would be rejected by EU anti-trust authorities.
