VSS appoints Hartfelder as head of IR

Hartfelder takes over responsibilities from James Rutherfurd, who has left VSS to pursue other opportunities. In  his new role, Hartfelder  has been charged with spearheading the company's investor relations and communications - with focus on fundraising, marketing and co-investment initiatives. 

Hartfelder has held key positions with VSS since his joining the company in 2001 and has most recently managed fundraising and limited partner communications of the company's latest fund, VSS Structured Capital II, which closed in 2009 at $300m . 

Hartfelder was also previously involved in fundraising for VSS Communications Partners IV, the investor's $1.3bn private equity buyout fund.
