SWITZERLAND - Butler carves out Rhodia's European string and fibre operations
Butler Capital Partners has backed the management buyout of chemical specialist Rhodia's European fibre and string business. The buyout house took a 95% equity stake, while management retained the balance.
The company, temporarily code-named Diamond, produces a range of fibres and strings for the manufacturing of a variety of niche products including airbags and industrial and biological filters. It generates a turnover in excess of EUR 200m and employs aound 1,200 in five production sites in Switzerland, Germany, Central and Eastern Europe. Its headquarters will be near Lucerne in Switzerland.
