American Capital is reportedly seeking a buyer for its European arm, European Capital, with the price tag thought to be around $2bn.
The firm is hoping to sell the portfolio as a whole, but could potentially split it up depending on offers received. European Capital had assets under management of $3.5bn at the end of the third quarter of 2008.
American Capital has been reported as seeking bids from both secondaries and buyout firms.
