Imperial Innovations appoints Smith as CFO / COO

Imperial Innovations, the technology commercialisation company of Imperial College London, today announces the appointment of Julian Smith as chief finance and operating executive.

Smith will join Imperial Innovations in January 2006, from RadioScape, a leading technology company selling Digital Audio Broadcasting products to broadcasters and radio manufacturers worldwide.

He

has spent the last six years as chief financial officer and board member at Radioscape. His previous roles include director of treasury operations and company secretary at Metapath Software International; group financial controller at MSI and nine years as a chartered accountant at Arthur Andersen.

Imperial Innovations concluded a private placement of shares in April this year, which raised £10m (net) for Imperial Innovations and £10m (net) for Imperial College London. This funding has provided Imperial Innovations with the resource to back quality opportunities in its spin-out portfolio most recently in the fields of fluid flow, wireless communications, molecular diagnostics and regenerative medicine.
