Top Lovells duo leaves for Weil Gotshal
Marco Compagnoni and Jonathan Wood will be joining the London office of Weil, Gotshal & Manges as partners in the firm's Global Private Equity Group.
Compagnoni has been a partner at Lovells since 1993 and currently heads the firm's international private equity practice. Having specialised in private equity for over 20 years, he is widely acknowledged to be one of only a handful of London lawyers who are genuinely pre-eminent in the field of private equity.
Wood has been at Lovells for almost ten years and has specialised in international private equity for most of that time. He is acknowledged to be a rising star in the private equity field.
Weil Gotshal's stated ambition is to become the leading private equity law firm in Europe and across the globe. With over 200 private equity experts worldwide, Weil Gotshal believes that the strength and depth of its private equity bench sets the firm apart from its competitors.
In 2005, the office completed over 50 private equity deals with a total deal value in excess of EUR 26bn. Weil Gotshal is now ranked among the UK's market-leading law firms for private equity and three London partners are recognised as leaders in that field.
