GERMANY - Barclays Private Equity backs MBO of Novem Group
Barclays Private Equity has, alongside the management, acquired Novem Group, a manufacturer of car interior design products consisting of CID Car Interior Design Holding GmbH and all subsidiaries, for an undisclosed amount. Barclays Private Equity will hold 85% of the shares and Novem management will hold the balance.
Novem Group was established in Vorbach in 1947 and achieves an annual turnover of approximately EUR 300m. The company produces interior trim parts for instrument panels, center consoles, door linings and roof linings for customers including BMW, Mercedes, Audi, VW, Volvo, Range Rover, Rolls Royce, Maserati, Lincoln and Cadillac. In addition to wood trim parts, Novem has extended its product portfolio in the past few years to include aluminum and carbon trim parts, thus establishing itself as a fullline provider of high-quality trim parts for vehicle interiors.
The Novem Group has approximately 3,700 employees across nine production sites in Germany, Italy, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, China, the US and Honduras.
