UK - UHY Hacker Young appoints new head of corporate finance
Peter Petyt has been named the new Head of Corporate Finance at the London office of top twenty accountancy firm UHY Hacker Young.
Petyt has already attracted two new team members to his department, Jonathan Ruffell and Simon Woodcock, who he worked with before his move to UHY Hacker Young. Both will be involved in research, analysis and transaction support.
A modern languages graduate from Oxford, a Liveryman of the Stationers' Company and a lifelong supporter of Chelsea FC, Petyt qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte in 1989. He then spent ten years in industry, during which time he was responsible for building a handful of companies into a £10 million group through acquisition and organic growth.
Since joining UHY Hacker Young, Petyt has been responsible for increasing the firm's profile in the communications sector, with specific focus on printing, packaging, publishing and new media. He has also been involved in some notable recent transactions, including the sale of a UK subsidiary of a French group to a major global financial services company, acquisitions of print-related businesses and management buy outs of a series of recruitment companies. He is currently developing a bespoke service advising companies about AIM listings and pre-IPO funding.
