SWEDEN - SVCA attends Swedish political seminar

The SVCA contributed to the annual political seminar, Almedals Veckan, in Sweden. The event, which a number of different political parties attended, was held in Gotland.

On the 12th July, Tom Berggren of the SVCA led the discussion “Unions and private equity - opportunities for companies, growth and job creation in Sweden”. Representatives from unions including Metallica, TCO and LO listened as Berggren explained the benefits of private equity, and responded to criticism of the asset class. The different unions welcomed the debate and encouraged an increased focus on the subject.
