UK - Brookfield appoints two to private equity funds group in London
Brookfield Asset Management has bolstered its private equity funds group with the hire of Peter Thompson and Alexander Apponyi in the firm's London office.
Thomson will cover the UK and Middle East, implementing and executing fundraising strategies and managing private equity institutional relationships, while Apponyi will cover the Scandinavian and Benelux countries.
Thomson was previously a managing director of the private funds group at Bear Stearns & Co, where he was responsible for project management as well as the distribution of private equity, real estate and real asset funds in the UK and Middle East.
Apponyi joins Brookfield from BerchWood Partners, where he has been a partner since 2005, setting up the firm's London office and bolstering its European activities. Prior to this, he was at UBS Investment Bank, where he helped set up the European Private Equity Placement Group.
