NETHERLANDS - Starwood acquires Golden Tulip

The acquisition includes Golden Tulip's franchise business; its development and representation businesses; joint venture interests; and the brands and trademarks; as well as the intellectual property of Golden Tulip, Tulip Inn and its related brands.

Headquartered in Amsterdam, the chain consists of 60 hotels around the world and has 720 others under franchise across 50 countries. In April this year the company sought protection for suspension of payments.
