UK - Sovereign wins auction for WCLS
Sovereign Capital has won the auction to buy educational firm World Class Learning Schools (WCLS) for approximately $75m, according to press reports.
WCLS owns the British Schools of America chain, offers learning-based products and also runs a company offering support programmes to teachers and schools of under-12 year olds. WCLS is reported to have risen its pre-tax profits by more than five times from 2005/06 to 2006/07.
