FRANCE - Global IRR of French private equity since 1988 is 12.1%
New figures published by the French private equity trade body AFIC and Ernst & Young reveal details of the industry's overall performance since 1988.
The statistics, gathered from 69 private equity firms, show venture capital making a net loss of 0.6%, buyouts generating a healthy IRR of 18.7%, and growth capital (which in France includes minority buyouts, or 'owner buyouts') making 13.5%. Top quartile funds generated a net IRR of 33.3% over 10 years.
