NETHERLANDS – Lazard eyes Arcomet

According to reports, the private equity arm of Lazard and Sofina may be set to acquire a stake in crane company Arcomet. The news follows the launch in June 2007 of a sale process to find a new partner for the business.

Incumbent backers GIMV, NPM capital and Sofinim, who have held a collective interest of 40% since 2000, plan to exit from the company. Based in Beringen, Arcomet was founded in 1956 by Karel Theyskens, who still holds 60% of the shares, and provides both cranes and qualified employees to operate them.
