FRANCE - HIG to take over Molex
According to reports, HIG Capital is in talks to acquire US automotive company Molex's Villemur-sur-Tarn factory for a symbolic EUR 1, given certain performance guarantees from US parent Molex.
The deal would allow HIG to initially employ a work force of 50-60 by 2010, a fraction of the 283 employed when the factory closed in August.
Labour representatives, asking for EUR 42m in indemnities, are said to be unsatisfied with the solution, as the American group is willing to pay only EUR 29m.
