UK - CVC interested in Royal Mail

The news come after business secretary Peter Mandelson said in December that Royal Mail should be part-privatised to improve its competitiveness.

CVC aleady has experience in postal services. It acquired 22% of Post Danmark from the Danish state in 2005, which it later merged with the Swedish equivalent Posten AB in 2008. The investor also holds a 50% stake in the Belgian postal services.

Dutch logistics company TNT and parcel courier DHL are believed to be interested as well.
