
ITALY – BS Private Equity in sale of Radici Film
BS Private Equity has sold packaging specialist Radici Film to Taghleef Industries, which is controlled by Dubai-based Al Ghurair Group.
In 2003 BS Private Equity acquired a 42.3% stake in a management buyout sponsored by Centrobanca and underwritten by Banca Intesa. BS Private Equity and Centrobanca now hold an 84.6% stake in the company.
Udine-based Rafici Film was founded in 1990 as a producer of biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) for food packaging. The company expanded its range of products to specialty films both in food and non - food markets. In 2001, Radici acquired Biafol Kft., Hungary which was rebranded Radici Film Hungary Kft and became one of the top European BOPP manufacturers. The product range has applications for the flexible food wrapping, adhesive tapes, flower wrapping, plastic labels and low thickness films sectors.
