NL - Private equity courts Akzo Nobel's pharma business
Chemical group Akzo Nobel NV is to receive offers for its pharmaceutical business Organon from private equity firms, according to a Dutch broadsheet.
The sale of Organon is reportedly planned for the first half of 2007. Akzo did not comment on the possible acquisition by a private equity firm but did mention that the preferred divestment route from Organon would be an IPO.
