UK - FTSE 250 Informa in talks with Candover and Cinven
Informa Plc, the FTSE 250 company which provides specialist information and services for the academic and scientific, professional and commercial business communities, is in talks with Candover and Cinven about going private. The deal would see Informa merged with German-based Springer Science and Business Media, or BertelsmannSpringer as it is better known, which the two private equity firms acquired in 2003 for EUR 1.256bn. The 2003 deal was part of a buy and build strategy which involved merging Dutch publisher KAP with Springer.
