UK - Sovereign creates £21m turnover learning and skills business
Sovereign Captial has merged three of its portfolio companies to create Employability and Skills Group (ESG), a new £21m turnover learning and skills company.
The company will be formed from the joining of Leicester-based Sencia, a specialist in getting long-term unemployed adults back to work first backed by Sovereign in 2004, Sheffield-based STL, an apprentice learning company acquired by Sovereign in 2006, and Orient Gold, a recent acquisition which delivers training contracts throughout the UK.
The company will have a total of 450 employees and will work with 'blue-chip' employers, as well as small and medium sized businesses, to provide learning and skills programmes on behalf of the Regional Learning and Skills Councils, the National Employer Service of the LSC and Jobcentre Plus across the country.
