ITALY - IDeA appoints new chairman

Benassi began his career in Banca Commerciale Italiana, where he covered positions of increasing responsibility before becoming managing director for Foreign Operations and Finance in 1987. After a period in INA Assitalia, which he managed from 1995 to 2000, Benassi returned to Banca Commerciale Italiana as CEO, a role he held until 2002.

Currently Benassi is chairman of Banca Italease and of Crédit Suisse Italy SpA; a director of De Agostini SpA, DeA Capital SpA, Seat Pagine Gialle SpA and Zignago Vetri SpA.

The appointment is in line with IDeA AI's growth strategy, particularly in supporting the raising of new funds and facilitating the introduction of new management teams with the ability to develop new products in new markets.
