CEE - Warburg Pincus sells Euromedic to ALS and Merrill Lynch
Ares Life Science (ALS) and Merrill Lynch's private equity arm have acquired Hungarian healthcare provider Euromedic International from its current shareholders including Warburg Pincus. The deal originated through a Rothschild-led auction, in which several private equity houses were involved. ING, Unicredit and Bank of Ireland provided the debt for the transaction.
In 2005, Warburg Pincus acquired Euromedic International, the largest private provider of diagnostic imaging and haemodialysis treatment services in Central and Eastern Europe, with healthcare centres located throughout the region. The majority of the company’s centres are located within, or adjacent to public hospitals.
