Blackstone appoints Assant as new head of European PE
Blackstone has appointed Lionel Assant as new head of European private equity.
This follows the promotion of Joe Baratta from head of European private equity to head of global private equity in July.
It was previously unclear whether Blackstone would fill the European position, following comments made by COO Tony James during a conference call at the end of July.
Assant, who joined Blackstone in 2003, had previously worked in M&A, asset management and private equity at Goldman Sachs. He is a director of United Biscuits, Mivisa and Tangerine.
