Robins joins SVG board
David Robins, chairman of Oriel Securities, has joined SVG Capital's board as a non-executive director.
Besides his current chairmanship at Oriel, Robins also chairs Asian Total Return Investment Company and Fidelity Japanese Values. He is also a non-executive director of engineering company Meggit.
Robins was previously chairman and chief executive of ING Barings, after almost 20 years spent with UBS.
Following his departure from ING, Robins became actively involved in charity and philanthropy organisations, and has been chairman of New Philanthropy Capital since 2001. He has also held positions with Hackney Empire and East London Business Alliance.
Further to his appointment as non-executive director, his election as director of SVG will be proposed at the 2014 annual general meeting.
