Bridgepoint portfolio firm All3Media's acquires Mersey TV
All3Media (formerly Crysalis TV) has acquired Mersey TV to form one of the UKтs largest independent TV production companies.
Bridgepoint originally backed the MBO of All3Media for £45m in July 2003, led by Steve Morrison, Jules Burns and David Liddiment. Bridgepoint is not providing additional funding for the acquisition of Mersey TV. The transaction is being funded through debt finance provided by Royal Bank of Scotland. The total consideration for the transaction is not being disclosed.
All3Media as a combined group following the acquisition of Mersey TV will have a turnover in the region of £205m for 2005. At the time of original MBO of All3Media, the group’s turnover was £87.8m for the year ended 31 August 2002 with operating profits of £3.8m.
Since the original MBO, All3Media acquired Lion TV Group, one of Britain’s fastest growing TV production companies specialising in history, general factual and entertainment programmes in June 2004 for an undisclosed amount. In Oct 2004, All3Media acquired Company TV, the fast growing TV drama production company (which produced The Life and Death of Peter Sellers which was the only British film selected for Competition in the 2004 Cannes Film Festival). The consideration was not disclosed.
