GLOBAL - DIC appoints new managing director

Smoot joins from Morgan Stanley Private Equity, where he co-founded the private equity group, was a member of the investment committee and led portfolio investments. Prior to co-founding the private equity division, Smoot was managing director of the financial sponsors group at Morgan Stanley and before this had spent three years at investment bank Saloman Brothers.
