AXA PE appoints private debt co-head
AXA Private Equity has promoted Olivier Berment to co-head of its private debt business.
Berment joined AXA PE in 2001 to manage the firm's turnaround and recovery activity. He then helped launch the firm's mezzanine business, which is now known as private debt, in 2005. Prior to this latest appointment, Berment was managing director of AXA PE's mezzanine team.
He will now work alongside co-head Cécile Mayer-Lévi under the leadership of Vincent Gombault, managing director of AXA PE's funds-of-funds and private debt businesses.
Parallel to this appointment, AXA PE also unveiled its private debt strategic committee, comprising managing directors Olivier Berment, Cécile Mayer-Lévi and Christophe Vulliez. The committee will aim to drive the development of AXA PE's unitranche activity, a debt segment in which the firm made a strong push last year.
