Given the prevailing market difficulties to raise financing, the private equity firms in question are said to be studying the possibility of a corporate partnership. Such a structure was utilised in AXA Private acquisition of gas distributor Enel Rete Gas, valued at EUR 480m, and 21 Partners and Mediaset's film distributing venture Capitolosette.

The auction is being organised by Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
