EUROPE – PAI close EUR 5.4bn fund
PAI partners has held the final close of PAI Europe V on EUR 5.4bn. The fund is the largest ever raised in Continental Europe.
The fund received commitments from 130 investors across 23 countries, with PAI’s existing investor base providing over 70% of subscriptions. Of the total investment 63% came from Europe, 23% from North America and 11% from Asia and the Middle East. The fund is twice as large as its predecessor, which was closed three years ago.
PAI V will continue to follow the firm's existing strategy and will target controlling stakes in LBO deals, with transaction values typically between EUR 500m and several billions. Target companies are usually European based medium to large size public or private companies, belonging to the services industry or the consumer goods and capital goods sectors.
PAI Europe V will be deployed by a team of 50 professionals led by 18 partners spanning PAI’s offices in Paris, London, Madrid, Milan, Munich and Luxembourg.
