
ITALY - BS Private Equity exits textile manufacturer
BS Private Equity together with IPEF III and MPS Venture has sold its controlling stake in textile manufacturer Klopman in a deal with an enterprise value of EUR 70m, generating a 3x money multiple for the seller.
BS Private Equity acquired the company in 2004 from Galey & Lord (now Swift Galey).
In 2007, Klopman, one of the major European textile manufacturers of work-wear, protective-wear and apparel, recorded revenues of EUR 125m. The company, founded in the late 1960s, has production facilities in Frosinone (Italy) and Monastir (Tunisia), and distributes its products through its sales offices located in Dusseldorf, Lyon, Barcelona, Richmond (UK), Moscow, Boras (Scandinavia), Lodz (Poland) and Milan.
