UK - Graphite embarks on timber buy-and-build
Graphite Capital has acquired a majority stake in timber windows producer Performance Window Group (PWG) for an undisclosed sum.
Graphite is backing the management team led by Roy Wakeman and Mark de Rozarieux. The pair previously worked with the investor during their time at LS Group, the door manufacturer Graphite successfully sold in 2005 to SIG Plc achieving a 6x money multiple.
Essex-based PWG was formed in 2006 and shortly after its inception acquired timber windows maker Mumford & Wood. A second acquisition was completed in early 2008 when the business acquired the assets and trade of fellow timber window manufacturer Clearwood UK from the Rowe Group.
Part of Graphite's investment will be used to allow the business to complete the further acquisition of TimberWindows.com, an internet-based distributor of timber windows.
PWG generated sales of £10.6m in 2008.
