EVCA appoints Römer as chairperson, rebrands to Invest Europe

The European Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (EVCA) has appointed Quadriga Capital founding partner Max Römer as its new chair, to oversee the rebranding of the association as Invest Europe.
Römer takes over as chair from Amadeus Capital's Anne Glover, and brings 37 years of private equity experience to the role. He has also previously been a member of EVCA's board and executive committee, from 1999-2004.
EVCA stated the rebranding was partly aiming at better encompassing the group's members, which include venture capital, private equity, infrastructure and long-term investors. The new brand will be introduced in October 2015.
In addition to the rebranding, Römer will focus on creating a single pan-European activity database, as well as helping to improve implementation of ESG practices across the industries represented by the association.
Römer founded Quadriga Capital in 1994, helped establish Citicorp's German buyout operations, was part of the founding team of the German PEVC foundation and worked as an investment manager in the Asean division of the German Development Bank.
