Ian Brown to lead Acquisition Finance at Lloyds
Ian Brown has been appointed to head up the Acquisition finance division of Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets. Brown was formerly Head of European Origination for Lloyds.
After 13 years at UBS, Brown joined the company as a Managing Director in 2006 and established its private equity related debt underwriting business which enabled the bank to lend greater support to private equity funds across Europe. He has played a role in structuring many sponsor-backed financings in Europe, such as BC Partners' acquisition of Phones4u Group.
His new role will involve further development of the bank's Acquisition Finance business and will require him to coordinate teams in Europe, London and across the UK in establishing well-structured senior debt facilities and yield bonds to support private equity funded acquisitions. The division is currently focusing on the provision of structured leveraged debt for a number of opportunities including primary, secondary and tertiary buyouts in 2012.
