ITALY – Sigefi invests in shoe manufacturer
Sigefi has acquired a 49.4% stake in shoe manufacturer SCHMID in a management buyout deal. The transaction was carried out through its funds Siparex Midcap and Siparex Italia, which acquired 32.9% and 16.5% of the company respectively.
The company, founded in 1942 specialises in the manufacture and distribution of high-end women’s shoes. In 2007 the company reported a turnover of around EUR 17m compared to EUR 14.1m in 2006.
