
Partners Group reshuffles executive team
Partners Group has announced plans to reshuffle its board of directors and executive team, including the appointment of two new co-CEOs.
The firm will appoint Steffen Meister, its chief executive officer since 2005, as a full-time executive member of the board of directors. In this role, Meister will oversee the executive board and chair the firm's business development committee.
He will also join the risk & audit and nomination & compensation committees and become a member of two newly-formed strategy and markets committees, overseeing strategic initiatives for the firm as well as client-related initiatives.
Partners Group will appoint Patrick Ward as non-executive member of the board of directors and as a member of the markets committee. Ward will be based in London with the title of chairman for the UK and Middle East.
Ward recently retired from his post as advisory director and chairman of Goldman Sachs Asset Management International after 33 years at the firm. His tenure included the roles deputy chairman and co-chief executive officer of Goldman Sachs International. He also held a member seat on the firm's management committee.
Christoph Rubeli and André Frei will assume the posts of co-chief executive officers at Partners Group. Rubeli joined the global investor in 1998. He is a partner at the firm and responsible for direct private equity investment activities. He is a member of the global portfolio investment committee and the direct private equity investment committee; he will also become a member of the executive board.
Frei is a partner at the firm and responsible for Partners Group's client services business department. He is a member of the executive board and chief risk officer, and has been with Partners Group since 2000, having held senior management positions in portfolio and risk management before heading the client services efforts.
Partners Group's client services business department will be led by partner Reto Schwager and managing director Raphael Meier. Schwager will join the executive board of the firm alongside Andreas Knecht, general counsel and partner at Partners Group.
