Venture Index investment levels up 9%
Venture Index, the UK's first index designed to lift the lid on investments in small, unquoted UK companies, has reported a rise of 9% in the number of investments since the beginning of the year.
In the 12 months to the end of May 2005, the data gathered shows total amount invested in smaller, unquoted UK companies has reached £40m invested in 283 deals. This compares to the 12 months to March 2005 when the Index reported an all time low of £38.7m, and indicates that recovery is underway at this end of the market.
