UK/US - Head of Citi PE leaves

Barber joined the firm in 1995 when it was called Salomon Smith Barney Capital Partners, and has been the head of the private equity business for the past nine years.

Citi's new global CEO Vikram Pandit announced in January that the group would be split into two arms - Citicorp and Citi Holdings. Citi Private Equity, which emcompasses funds-of-funds, co-investment and mezzanine activity, will become a part of Citi Holdings. The business which has offices in London and New York, has made more than 300 fund investments and 75 direct investments.
