EUROPE - Schühsler replaces Loizaga as EVCA chairman

Schühsler says his priorities for his tenure are the implementation of EVCA's structural transition announced yesterday, the pursuing of excellence in professional standards, raising awareness of the importance of venture capital, improving the odds for the success of this segment, as well as increasing investments by insurance companies in venture capital firms.

Schühsler has been working at venture capital firm TVM Capital since 1990. Prior to this, he was an investment manager at Horizonte Venture Management in Vienna.

The EVCA Chairmanship rotates annually each June, when the Chairman and Chairman-Elect are formally elected by the incoming Board. The EVCA Chairmanship involves a three-year term on the EVCA Executive Committee as Chairman-Elect, Chairman and Immediate Past-Chairman. The Chairmen are selected each year to be representative of different countries, investment stages and sizes of firms.
