NETHERLANDS - Gilde buy Uniq's Dutch wing
Gilde Equity Management Benelux is set to acquire Uniq Plc's Dutch business units, valued at a total of EUR 20m, as the UK-listed food producer Uniq is looking to raise cash to manage its debt.
Uniq Netherlands includes the Johma brand, a ready made salads producer, and Meal solutions, which prepares and packages fresh sandwiches.
It is not a first for Uniq: IFR Capital recently announced it was buying Uni's German and Polish divisions for EUR 28.5m. In 2006, Gilde backed the MBO of Uniq Belgium.
Shares in Uniq shot up by 8% following the announcement.
