BlackBerry Partners Fund II to launch in June 2011
BlackBerry Partners Fund will launch its second fund, BlackBerry Partners Fund II, in June 2011.
The new $150m fund has received a lead commitment from Research In Motion (RIM). Focussed exclusively on mobile computing, the venture capital fund has a broader international mandate than the first fund.
The first BlackBerry Partners Fund was established in 2008, having attracted commitments from RIM, Thomson Reuters, Royal Bank of Canada among others. 13 investments have been made from the fund to date in Canada, the United States, Israel and Ireland.
