ITALY - Barclays exit industrial manufacturer CEME

Barclays Private Equity has agreed to sell fluid control components producer CEME Group to Investcorp, the global provider and manager of alternative investment products. The current management team will also reinvest in the company.

Founded in 1974, CEME initially focused on solenoid valves for industrial applications, progressively expanding its product range to offer a wide range of components for fluid control in steam, water, gas and air applications. The company employs 466 staff and manufactures its components in production facilities in Italy and China. CEME achieved turnover of EUR 113.1m in 2007.

Barclays Private Equity bought CEME in September 2005.
