Four European mid-cap players team up, create Private Equity Network
Activa Capital, Graphite Capital, ECM and MCH have launched the Private Equity Network (PEN), a pan-European initiative designed to help their portfolio companies expand internationally.
The four initial members – based in France, the UK, Germany and Spain respectively – will look to progressively invite more firms from other European countries. Activa Capital partner Charles Diehl will be PEN's first annual chairman.
The four PEN members will aim to support each other's portfolio companies in expanding within Europe, by sharing their respective sector knowledge and networks of local advisers and intermediaries. They will also look to adopt the same approach in order to help their portfolio businesses penetrate the North American and emerging markets.
The four GPs will also share best practices in areas such as operational improvement and management know-how, and will pursue cross-border cooperation opportunities.
