UK - Candover's Wood Mackenzie sale close
The sale for troubled Candover's energy consulting company Wood Mackenzie is reportedly to close on Monday, with several buyout houses, including Bain Capital, Charterhouse Capital Partners, Hellman & Friedman and Warburg Pincus, said to be preparing final bids.
At least 10 groups, including consultancies, trade rivals and private equity firms submitted indicative bids earlier this month. However, the value of the offers is reported to be much lower than the £650m price tag Candover had originally set for the business.
Goldman Sachs is administering the sale of the Edinburgh-based business that specialises in oil, gas, coal, metals and mining.
