Hawkpoint Partners picked up the award for Independent House of the Year, having advised on a total of eight deals during 2005.
Analysis of the deals (by value) completed over three years within seven key sectors reveals the following results. PricewaterhouseCoopers triumphed in the Consumer, Leisure and Financials sector awards; Deloitte led in Healthcare and Media; Catalyst came out top in the Industrials sector category; and Citigroup was the strongest performer in the Technology sector.
Ian Armitage, CEO of HgCapital, commented: '2005 has been the best year yet for European private equity. All of the markets we serve witnessed robust M&A activity around the change in ownership of some very fine companies. The private equity mid-market continues to flourish thanks to the efforts of an excellent advisory community, who make deals happen. We are delighted once again to recognize the achievements of the Rainmakers and congratulate all our winners.'
