SPAIN – Mercapital readies acquisition of engineering firm
According to reports Mercapital is finalising a majority stake acquisition in Obras Subterraneas (Ossa) which it has valued at over EUR 200m.
It is understood that both parties have set a June deadline for closing the deal.
The company was founded in 1950 by Pedro Figar and Miguel Larrea and it initially operated in the mining sector. It now specialises in underground engineering. In 2007 it reported a turnover of approximately EUR 40m.
