UK - Terra Firma places bid for Thames Water
A Terra Firma-led consortium has placed its bid for Thames Water, the £7bn water company being sold by German power group RWE, according to the Financial Times.
The other investor to have placed a bid was Qatar's state-owned investment fund which is working with UBS's global infrastructure fund. RWE continues to run a dual-track process, although recent problems with the water regulator may make an IPO difficult. It is thought that 3i which had teamed up with Canadian pension fund Borealis was yet to have lodged its offer.
