BELGIUM - KBC Private Equity invests EUR 3m in VMD
KBC Private Equity has invested EUR 3m in VMD to enable it to acquire Laboratoires Biové. VMD and France-based Laboratoires Biové are both manufacturers of veterinary medicines.
VMD has been active in the veterinary sector for more than 30 years. Based in Arendonk, the company has expanded its activities in the Belgian market and is now represented in over 70 countries in Europe and beyond. Veterinary medicines for farm animals make up around 80% of the company's turnover, while a broad mix of specialised veterinary surgical instruments constitute 10%. VMD also sells the entire line of Trovet diet food, exclusively for veterinary practices. Laboratoires Biové is complementary to VMD both in terms of products and markets. The new group will have a consolidated turnover of over EUR 30m. VMD was assisted by financial adviser Capital Advice.
