
GERMANY - Demeter settles in Berlin
French cleantech investor Demeter Partners has opened an office in Berlin, which will be managed by investment directors Detlef Steinmann and Michel Leistenschneider.
Demeter intends to invest EUR 40m in Germany over the next three years, which will be used to foster the development of companies within so-called eco-industries, such as water, waste and air treatment, site remediation, as well as eco-energies, such as renewable energies, energy efficiency, green transportation sectors.
Demeter Partners is headquartered in Paris and currently manages EUR 300m across two funds, Demeter and Demeter 2, which is due to hold a final closing in November 2009. The portfolio currently comprises 22 companies in France, Spain and Germany.
